I found better opportunity and wanted to escape miserable environment that i am working in, i thought i will leave on good terms with them instead of using all my sick days,vacation and floater days, I thought I will hand in two week notice and than simply get paid for the time they owe me. So i gave them the letter on friday and today I was approached by warehouse manager 2hours after i started working who is not my manager cause i work in the office said to go in the conference to surrender my id that they accept my resignation except they want me to leave right away. I will forget that job as bad dream as long as they pay me for forcing me to leave early and all the time they owe me. Anyone been in any similar situations when they left company? BTW this is teamster union job

Avoid spunky responses, I need serious opinions what steps I can take

Pretty standard. Most state laws say that they have to pay out vacation / floating holidays, but not sick time. It should show up on your last check.

I don't see them compensating you for the last two weeks that you didn't work, and they're definately not going to pay you for time you weren't sick.

i don't mind if they pay me for forcing leave early and the time they owe me, but they thing what he said was just verbal they might just pay me half of what they owe me thats it.

It's not unusual for employers to escort you from the building the moment you tell them you are going to quit. They are afraid you might do something bad before you leave, like fvck with the computers or something.
 

Consult with a union steward. That's what your dues are for in the first place. They'll get you all the dollars you deserve.

A union job cannot do this IIRC Wduaqnug.
 

If you're part of a union contact your union rep IMMEDIATLY. Do not accept any terms, do not accept ANYTHING.
Not a single person here can advise you better than your union rep.

Teamsters union too!
guys incase they will screw me money wise can spunky count on you to contact NY state labor commissioner office and teamster president in DC?

The Teamsters will not screw you over. Talk to your union steward ASAP.

problem is shop steward an ass, who looks out for himself and gets lost if he is representing union or company interests, when people filed grievances most of the time he never officially filed them with a union

I left voicemail for my local president and send him an e-mail, if he helps me than i am good but if his options limited than i need to do something

we will see I finally got call back from local president, he said no problems he will get me all the $ take up to the labor board if he has to, I will keep you updated

CRAPPY news

still havent got paid and union guy is saying management still didnt respond, I will give it until tommorow will hammer teamsters in DC, join council, nlrb, labor dept and contact ceo and will file small claims court as last resort

Only got paid for the week that I didnt work due to them forcing me to resign earlier. My contract clearly indicates final payment for any vacation time must be made within 2 weeks from termination date. They owe me about $1500. I runed out of patiense sent e-mail to corporate big guys in FL and got positive response they will make sure they make final payment ASAP and also sending packet of documents to Albany, NY Labor department wants to get involved as well.

Local management ended up looking like fools and I got paid for not working

I got paid for everything except 2days for floation holidays, union attorney reviewing union contract to see if i am legally eligible for it.

i got paid not because of union but because of my vp big shot buddy
