if so, just take the price of the item and divide by 1.2 and buy a GC for that amount, voila! 20% off!

ie, for the $75 soldering iron:

75/1.2=$62.50, then wait till they send you the 20% GC and you should have $75 in GC total.

I have that DMM. Bought it on sale a while back. The guy at Radio Shack remarked how good a deal it was. Mine works fine, although I would hesitate to compare its features with other models because I am not familiar with the more expensive models. I would think it would be fine for the purpose you mentioned.

It's a nice meter. I bought one to use with my old Radioshack analog meter (must be 24 years old and still working fine). The digital readout is just easier to use in many cases. The meter would make a fine present.
