Special MP3 Player Feature?

I was looking for a MP3 player that can play the music I store on it through the radio. For example, I tune in to a FM channel like 88.3 on my car radio and it can play all my audio files on the MP3 player. Any ideas on new or current models out there that feature this?

I don't know of any but you can always purchase a little radio blaster which connects to the 8mm connector on a stereo and transmits it over FM signal that your radio can pick up. They usually go for about $20-$30.

Is there any way you can provide a link to this radioblaster? I did a search and came up with nothing, just bands named that and what not. I've been looking for a device that does exactly what you described for my mp3 player.

Get any MP3 player and one of these. I picked up the SF100 model for my MiniDisc (and car usage) for $30 CDN.

There's also one by irock (I can't get to their site right now...blocked by our corp Firewall...who knows why) but I've heard that it ISN'T all that however it is slightly nicer 'looking'.

how's the sound quality on these? better or worse than the average tape adaptor? also are there some other ones that are smaller...maybe just a little thing that plugs straight into the jack?

Last time I went to radio shack they had some kits for kids wanting to setup their own short range radio station. They're pretty cheap and I'm guessing there is some way to connect your mp3 player to it. Don't expect a very long range from this though.

well, in my experience, they've never worked too well (you have to find a wavelength that is completely clear for it to transmit), and moving the little transmitter around even a little can cause static.

your best bet is to get one of those tape adapters for cd-players, and use that. of course, if your car only has a cd-player, then you would have to go with the radio thing.

Sinco, I remember reading on cnet.com about a player that could do that. It could broadcast the music on a FM frequency and could even record FM radio and identify the song that is being played. I'm looking for the link...can't seem to find though hehe.

EDIT: I think it's the one above hehe. Still looking, there could be another one.

Personally I disagree. I use a FM Transmitter in my car and:
1) It sounds way way way better then any tape adapter I've ever heard (those things are a POS).
2) I can pick any station and since I'm only 10ft (at most) away from the receiver (antenna) even if the station is a real radio station in the state/city I'm passing through it gets over ridden.
3) The unit I bought powers off the car lighter plug and can power my MD (so no batteries..not that car adapters use batteries but some FM trans do).

dpopiz The irock one is pretty small and just fits 2 AAA batteries (gotta replace them approx. every 20hrs though).
