Special A64 Far Cry patch help...

The Far Cry A64 special patch won't work on my system... Every time the patch goes to finish, it says that an A64 must be installed on my system to install the patch, and it aborts... I have seen others post on here saying that it works no problem in Win XP, so why am I having so much trouble? Apparently, it only works on Win XP 64-bit edition and nothing else... This sucks!!!!
 
Well, maybe you can download the XP-64 trial and play the 64 bit far cry for a little bit. I wouldn't switch to XP-64 permentantly yet though...not enough support.
 
It does not work with Windows XP Professional or Home Edition. It only works with Windows XP Professional X64 Edition.

Yes I am! The reason for this, is that on several of the other forums, people claimed left and right that the patch works with Windows XP Pro, and that Win XP 64 was not neccessary. I guess those other claims were lies than, at this point🙁 Oh well...

the game talks to the hardware through the operating system, and if the operating system is 32bit then there is no chance a 64bit software can go through anything else but 32bit to the hardware

I already explained "how"! Plus, the website to download the patch even lists Windows XP Professional as a supported OS. I am not dumb, so for those who keep saying I am, you are "smart" enough to know where to shove it! I got my answer; let's leave it at that...
