Spec Ops: The Line

Saw a good deal, otherwise wouldn't have bought it, especially having tried the terribad demo.

Not necessarily a good game but a game strange enough to recommend picking it up. The single player story is really fresh compared to most popular shooters. They could have done so much more with the story and the original setting. Granted, Middle East setting isn't exactly original but no other game I know placed itself in Dubai. There is a couple of studios that could have easily made this a shooter GOTY. As it is, it's a flawed game but it's fresh take on single player campaign is worth $25 on Amazon.

I am about 1 hr into the game and it's just amazing...They have done the desert setting just perfectly...Dubai in ruins is just other worldly.
It's just like any other 3rd person cover based shooter.....it's the setting that is intriguing.
Plus since it's focused in 1 geographical setting the levels are much more cohesive than the CoD world tour's.
Runs beautifully on my 'aging' 4850...🙂

I don't like shooters and don't much like violence in games, but am considering both Max Payne 3 and Spec Ops on sale, each getting good praise. Nice to see this design on story.

Fun game - good story with 3rd person behind the shoulder combat.

Ending provides multiple outcomes - one of the outcomes will definitely remind you of Fight Club 🙂

I picked this up from the Steam midweek sale in early January. I've been playing through it - nice setting, interesting story. I'm curious to see how it turns out, but I'm already willing to give it a thumbs up.
