[Spec] New AMD GPUs coming December 7th

HP announced new Envy 15 and 17 laptops with AMD graphics cards, but they aren't telling what the model numbers are.

The last refresh of the Envy 15 came out at the same time as AMD's 5xxx series generation of mobile cards, so it isn't much of a stretch to assume that they will be repeating the trend this time around, and the Envys are coming on the 7th.

I guess this would be the first time that mobile cards are released simultaneously/before desktop cards, but I guess that's' a reflection on the state of the market right now.

I think it more of the state of the 28nm process. Its not ready for high performance chips.

Nothing new tho, 7850/70 and laptop radeons in december, high end stuff in jan.

AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series Graphic Cards Release Date

According to recent rumors the arrival date would be either December 6 or February 9. This time we are talking about the first generation of 28nm graphics, GK107 generation ahead of NVIDIA. If 28nm AMD HD 7000 series are made available for the holiday season then it will be a blow to NVIDIA, who has announced that its next generation graphics will not appear until the first quarter of 2012.
