Yeah, there are aboriginal people that resided on the island before the KMT came. Although i think most Taiwanese now are more related to people in China. Not too sure though.

Unless the OP knows someone from the southern part of taiwan and is over 40 years old, it's highly unlikely this someone knows the "native" taiwanese dialect

Yes. A province in China speaks it too. Except they don't call it "Taiwanse", they call it Min Nan dialect.
