Speaking of viruses!!!

Personally I think viruses are written and released by the Virus software companies like Norton and NAI.
I think they push these viruses out frequently to keep themselves in business. That is why they have a patch or a fix the second a virus is found. Yea right. Also.. listen up damn you home computer users... buy their product... DO IT. I am sick of getting nailed with virus attempts and port scans from all you yahoos without up to date virus scanners. If everyone would keep these scanners up to do virus writers and dos attackers would not have such an easy time of it. DO IT. Get the virus scanner and then learn to update it. A 14 month old virus definition list does you know good at all. Got it.
Good.

Me neither. But I got an AV a few months ago after nearly everyone in my GF's family got TWO freakin' worms in the same week. My GF uses my computers, so I got the paranoids and got one.

However, she's very good at knowing what not to D/L and in the four years previous, had never D/Led anything bad.

Actually, both are acceptable. 😛 In fact, Dictionary.com has no entry for Virii.

2. Something that poisons one's soul or mind: the pernicious virus of racism.
Computer Science. A computer virus.

don't forget penii and mongeese 😉

I once read the manual for the human body. It says, there is supposed to be only one asshole issued for each human being. Computer viruses (virii) are proof that someone has been overproducing. :disgust:

And bringing it back to the the original subject of viruses or virii, this whole thread is enough to make me...

anti-Symantec. 😀

they dont make the viruses themselves, they hire child labor in 3rd world countries to do it for them, thanks fo microsoft's poor security. what do u mean microsoft owns a stake in both?!

I am really suprised no one has come forward to admit these companies write the viruses (or virii). I have no doubt they do it to stay in business.
On the scanner side though I am a network admin with 13 years of PC support 5 years of which have been spent as a Network Administrator. I really never worried about viruses either. That is until a virus called funlove hammered my entire network and screwed us over royally. Now I push them like nobody busniess. The new virus that is hammering us as posted here on this forum is Klez. I hate that monkey because people still open it. Viruses would not work if people would not open them but sadly they do and always will.
