I'm mighty proud. However, you didn't fix the initial post as you said you would. 😛

Please point out what I missed. Sorry if I'm a bit slow tonight I only got about 4 hours sleep lastnight and I'm a bit toasty.

Four things, in your initial post:

bite's -> bites
PIC'S -> PICS
pic's -> pics
pic's -> pics

My question has always been...

What if one of the little buggers was hidin under the toilet seat lid when ya sat down..... And got ya right THERE

Say goodbye to your nuts and rectum I guess...

Most households with brown recluses never experience a bite
90% of all brown recluse bites heal without severe scarring.
Many brown recluse bites cause just a little red mark that heals without event.
Despite all the hoopla surrounding the brown recluse, there is still not one PROVEN death due to brown recluse bite. (No, wait, don't write me about someone who died and 'the doctor said' it from brown recluse! This information originates from two separate publications in medical journals written by two recluse venom experts who are medical doctors, who have been studying the medical implications of recluse bites for decades in Missouri and Tennessee where brown recluses occur frequently, and who know much more about the effects of recluse venom than your local doctor. If you want to argue this point with somebody, go argue with them, not me. And unless you have a confirmed spider identification associated with your "alleged" bite (i.e., removed from the skin of the victim after the bite), you don't have a PROVEN envenomation.)

just search google for "brown recluse

The brown recluse spider is not common in Ohio. It is found mainly in the southern and Midwestern states especially Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. To date, infested Ohio counties have had a history where this spider probably hitchhiked (shipped) into the home in furniture, appliances, storage cartons, boxes, old clothes and other household goods. The brown recluse spider is not aggressive. Most bitten people have directly contacted the spider when putting on clothing or shoes not used for long periods of time. They usually occur in houses on the floor or behind furniture (undisturbed areas).

this makes me feel much better.

When I lived in Mo. and cave explored I saw them quite often.
One of the firemen I knew DID get bitten however. He said he was working in his garage and it felt like a piece of hot steel went into his leg. I only saw the bite a few days after the fact, and never saw the end results.

okay, according to the spider bite expert (that guy from Idaho who vanished and police say it was foul play--I say the spiders got him!)...its not the venom that causes such a severe necrosis, but rather the bacteria that can be found on spider fangs. Most of the time spider bites don't even penetrate the skin far enough to deposit venom. When they do, venom is usually harmless (causes pain but no lasting damage.) A few folks with sensitive skin or allergies may have a sore appear. But necrosis leading to gangrenous wounds is caused by a certain bacteria that sometimes grow on spider fangs.

Interesting.
We've went from no solution to the bite down to most arent more then a minor iritation down to its not the venom but bacteria on the fangs,
Gentlemen (and women), spider guru's we are not.

I looked at the first few pics and thought that's not nasty at all...even up to day 6 isn't that nasty. 9 and 10 are horrific though, that would SUCK!

Wow, It's rare that I respond to threads in these forums, but I couldn't let this one pass me by without saying my own words.

Man, that must suck. He should have cut it off alot earlier.
