Just saw him Sat night at his speech thingie at the local fair. It was good but he ranted more than he gave hard facts. I was hoping for less political stuff though but since he's promoting his new book, it was hard to come by.
I agree with most of what he said though. Afterwards my girlfriend got her book signed and shook his hand. He seems like a nice guy, except his signature sucked. It looks like 5 M's with an 'e' at the end, doh!

i dont know, ive gone to a lot of book signings and readings where the people have been complete a-holes. joyce carol oates for instance, is a no-talent scumbucket that drivels feces onto the page and yet, when people show up to hear what she has to say she still treats the audience like 1st graders. and i have heard her insult people who asked some interesting questions. i remember one kid asked about how she can constantly assert that any character in a book is "not me in any way" and she responded "you obviously know nothing about writing"

He writes about how he feels mostly, which can't be fact or fiction. He's a smart guy and a lot of people support his ideas. I almosted asked him about the Heston interview but I didn't.

He has some thought provoking ideas and a passion for what he believes in.
However, anything he purports as being factual is and will always be suspect. A mirror image of Rush Limbaugh?
