Speaking of broadband...

What would you consider to be the minimum requirements in bandwidth that you could survive on at your place?

I know for a fact I'd go insane with a 56K modem

don't want to go back to the dark ages

<-- likes his 5M/800K up/down stream

I think minimum requirements would be 3M/384 Kbps.

Right now I'm living with a 21.6 k dialup connection... it's driving me up the wall. I NEED SOMETHING FASTER.

My Exchange server probably wouldn't like dial up or a dynamic IP.

Whatever connection I got, it would have to be static. 🙂

I've had a 3Mbs connection since 2000 which was recently bumped up to 5Mbs so I could go back to 3Mbs but I would not like anything even approaching dial-up.

Verizon rules when it comes to speed with price, right now it is giving away 4mb Down/768kb Up for $29.99 if you sign up for 1 year contract. i think you cannot beat that.

@ work we have a 768kSDSL and it works just fine considering the other people in the office using it.

@ home i have Comcast 4mb/256k .. and i don't notice any difference in websurfing from any of the two. The only difference is the downloading speed ...

if you have a 256k + line you will not notice a difference in websurfing if you have a 8mb line. The only difference is the downloading of larger files.
