I just bought an awesome set of Logitech Z-640 6 Speaker Surround Sound Speakers from Amazon.com for 45 bucks! Similar systems go for well over a hundred.

I bought them because of the great reviews and low price, and I'm quite impressed by them. They can also be used on gaming consoles as well as on a pc.

The only annoying thing is the BRIGHT blue LED on the center speaker, which I covered with a tiny piece of electrical tape.
 
Hey ya I remember those guys. They approached me at Speedway gas stop in Deerfield, IL. I hear the speakers are really good. Some how they ended up with an extra pair after their last delivery. So instead of taking them back to the warehouse, they figured they'd sell them.

I wonder what was really in those boxes?

Speakers, actually. In fact, they pose as a scam, but in fact, its someone's business plan. They drive around and sell speakers, under the pretense that they're "hot" but from what I've read they're actually a legitimate sale.

A friend of mine bought a set from them. Turns out, they do the job very well for a mid-grade system.
 
You can get klipsch speakers direct from Klipsch for $99 clearanced and they are in stock.

This is the biggest bang for your buck and its your price range.
 
I bought Logitech Z-560 for exactly $100 (on sale from $200) - that was 2-3 years ago. That was a hell of a sale, imo - the quality of the speakers is amazing!
I'd recommend Logitech speakers any day 😉
Finding ones below $100 is another question...
 
That's hilarious.. I ran into those same guys, same white van, in a theater parking lot in Nashville.... "Pssst... Hey buddy.."
