I'm looking for new computer speakers, and I am having a slight quandary....

I want a 2.1 setup simply because of my budget. (I don't want to spend more than 100)
And I also heard and now WANT the klipsch 2.1. But I had no idea it would be so expensive!

So now I am looking towards you guys for some help. I would like 2.1 speakers that perform similary to the Klipsch (God they sounded good) and is not as price inflated as Klipsch MAY seem to be.

I was kinda hoping logitech made a similar product like the Z 560's and the Klipsch 4.1, but I dont think the Z340's are quite up to par.

HELP!.... thanx guys!

Try looking thru the FS/T forum for some Klipsch. You gotta pay if you want to play.

How much are you wanting to spend Klipsch promedia 4.1 reconditioned are only $150. These are through klipsch. I bet that you could get them off the net for even cheaper.

[edit] The 2.1 are only $99. I just think saving the extra $50 would be worth it.

i'll second the idea that you gotta pay if you want tp play, and you said so yourself that they sound good. if you absolutely cant get the klipsch (new or refurbished), i'd say your next best bet is Altec Lansing. their sound quality and craftsmanship rivals klipsch. i've also heard great things about Midiland speakers, but i have no experience with them, so i'm just suggesting that you look into them.

Well, thx for all the input guys!

the 100 dollar deal for the Klipsch 2.1 looks good, but does anyone know exactly how well these "refurbished" items are?

And I'll look into altec lansing also. I suppose i can't ask for the best when I give myself a budget. :p

I'm interested in new speakers as well - how would the Klipsch ones compare to Altec Lansing ACS33's? Would they totally blow my ACS33's out of the water, or woud the improvement be marginal?

I have the Klipsch reference series in my Home theater. let me tell you that they are great. I can't vouche for the Altecs but I think that they would suck compared to the Klipsch. When they refurbish them that just means that they were either a scratch and dent model shipped back to the company or they had a defective driver. They put a new one in but can't sell it for full price. They have a good rep for quality. After I buy a new monitor I will be buying some 5.1s
