Speakers Arent Wurking Right

If i try to play and media files {listen to music} it tells me that the soundcard or sound device isint wurking. My "soundcard" Is attached right to my mobo ("soyo original"-i believe thats what it is) anyone have any ideas of what i could do?
 
btw i get that loud "beep" from the computer letting me know that the speakers are wurking correctly when i boot the comp up, its juss when i get inside of windows. :disgust:
and it aint the speakers i have already tried to differnt sets.
 
Is the soundcard showing up correctly in the device manager? What OS?

BTW: that 'beep' is coming from the speaker inside your PC... not the external speakers.

 
Right click on 'my computer' ----> Properties ----> Device Manager and locate your soundcard. Tell me if it's showing up correctly.
