Speaker Stands

Thoughts? I'd really like to not pay more than $100 for all four of them - two front, two rear.

Or maybe someone has good luck with wall mounting?

Might depend on how nice you'd like them to look... 😉

I have a 6.1 set and what I did was get some wood and gorilla glue from Lowes and made homemade stands for myself. Cost me less than $30 for the wood, glue, sandpaper and bus fare and that's with me accidentally buying twice as much wood as I needed.

I have Sanus 24" and 32" stands for sale. If you are willing to pickup locally (Rancho Cucamonga 91730). I can sell all 4 for $50. All in mint/new condition.

You can make some high quality ones for a cheap price. Measure the speakers, make a mounting device* and get building. * I don't know about speaker stands, but wouldn't you want them stuck to the stands so they can't vibrate off?

I use this stuff, it sticks pretty well. Only cost $1 at Wal-Mart.

why not build them? just buy some 3/4" plywood, a few two by fours, some screws, and some spikes/rubber feet. i made my stands for under 20 bucks, spray painted them, and they work fine.

so you'll still need stands for the front / center, possibly the sides right? and wall mount the rears?

I was in the exact same situation as you. I couldn't understand why they were charging $100 for just a pair of stands. Although I try to avoid Walmart, I went there and bought 2 sets of these:

Stands

I've only partially assembled them, I haven't put speakers on them yet. But they seem fairly well built and look decent enough. If you have really nice speakers, maybe you'll notice a sound quality difference between these and the more expensive stands, but I don't think I'll notice the difference on my entry level system.

I ordered these stands from monoprice.com: Link

I haven't found a cheaper set anywhere, but I don't know if these will be good enough to hold your speakers. There are a few customer reviews on there as well.

The black one is out of stock so here's the link for the silver one: Link

I should be getting them this week, so I can update this post after I get them.

Would those fit a set of Z5500s by any chance?

lol I sure hope they do 😀. I'll be using them with them myself.
One of the reviewers said he was able to to use them with his Z5500 with "minor modifications" to his speakers. I wish he went a little more into detail about what those modifications were.

I bought these for my Logitech Z5500 speakers minor modification required on the speakers to fit the stands. The quality and value was about what I expected for the price. Great for budget minded setups.

I'll get back to you once I receive the stands this week.
