I am looking at upgrading my speakers and if necessary my sound card. I have a Sound Blaster Live Value and I am very happy with it. I would like to run a 5.1 surround speaker setup without using my surround reciever. I would like to stay in the $50-150 price range for speakers. If I have to upgrade my soundcard I will obviously choose the SB live 5.1.

After reciving feedback on a previous post I dont think I will need the Sound Blaster Live Drive.

Those are only a sub and four satellite, no center channel. Also the the cheapest I found them (admmittedly I looked quickly) was $177.00. Not bad as a second choice if 5.1 is out of my budget, where can I get them for the $120.00 price tag everyone was talking about in that thread?

Thank you

P.S. this is what I want Creative Sounblaster 5.1 Speakers, is there anything better for about the same price? I found them at Newegg.comfor $98.00

those are the best speakers you'll get for $98. but for $139 at bestbuy.com, you can get the midiland s4-7100. i have the s4-7100 plus (the s4-7100 + decoder) and i love how it sounds. for an official review, check out 3dsoundsurge.com.

The speakers are $139 and the Decoder is extra correct? How much extra? Although I would give my SB Live Value to my wife to replace her el-generico that would save me having to buy a new Live 5.1.

Anyone know if I get the Cambridge Soundworks 2200 speakers if I can use them with my SB Live Value (non 5.1) until I can afford the upgraded soundcard?
