PC speakers have normally sounded "tiny" (for lack of a better word), and I'm wondering if this is an issue with the mx5021. while the monsoon mh505s are pretty good for pc speakers, I'm looking for something a bit more robust.

thanks.

i like how the megaworks 250d sound more than the promedia 2.1s...but are they better than the mx5021s?

(just noticed newegg was selling swan m200s. OOS :( now if only i can find an inexpensive sub to go with it.)

Altec Lansing isn't in the same league as the speakers I listed. They used to be... like, in the 70s. :p

You may want to know that the Monsoon company has gone TU for all practical purposes per an article in the August Maximum PC...

I've read a lot of people recommending Logitech speakers. And Kia automobiles.

I should've phrased it better: i've read a lot of informed audiophiles who actually listened to the mx5021s recommend the mx5021s.

I love the MH-505's but they sound even sicker if you set them up with another set of 5.1 speakers that just have the midrange cones and the subwoofer.

absolutely :)... Its one of those fun little experimental things... I have done it before. The monsoon's best attribute is its detailed highs in my opinion (obviously if . Their midrange is a little too much dependent on the subwoofer. They feel like they are missing something in the low middle somewhere. Find another what have prominent low mid range and you are set. But if you want to mix something with them, don't something with tweeters... just a midrange cone in the satelites as the monsoons will more than cover the treble end.

Plus, you can put in your sig 10.2 sound system ;)

another note though, there is a wall that nothing seems to go beyond no matter high end you go on pc speakers... I have an carver 500 watt amp that I used to use with these speakers made by a german company called Kirksaeter. They are the best sounding speakers in the world IMHO (I have heard a LOT of speakers mind u). Pick up a pair and an amp if the 10.2 sound isnt up your alley.
