Speaker problem

Ok here it is.. I have a generic 4.1 speaker system by Kinyo, and the Audigy2ZS sound card. In games the speaker system will fade the sound in and out like your hearing it from a distance, muffled, or like in a cave.. I need some advice on this, I have the drivers installed for my soundcard but the speakers just started acting up. Could my speakers be dying? Or could it be the khz is set too high, or too low? Any suggestions?

Shorts in the wiring or loose jacks? Make sure everything is plugged in correctly, that you aren't splitting the source a dozen times, and that you are using the computer as your main sound amplification (volume turned all the way up) as opposed to having your speakers maxed and using your computer to control volume.

Thanks for the quick response but I still have the problem... I need help this is so annoying when I am playing CS and I can't hear the peoples footsteps to kill them!

not to crap on you or your thread but I had a brief experience with Kinyo and they were awful, awful speakers
I'd bet they just died - if you do choose to replace them I think you'd do well to choose a brand of higher caliber

Thanks for the info, yah I know there not the best but they will suffice, I solved my problem and I would get new speakers I just don't have the cash to get my Z680's I want right now... Besides I got these speakers like 3yrs ago for 50 bucks pretty good deal if you ask me... but I am not sure now... haha
