Accessory after the fact. Johnson said he wanted to blur out the remaining faces from the Jan 6 pictures to protect them from the DOJ.

Let the prosecution begin.

An accessory-after-the-fact is someone who assists 1) someone who has committed a crime, 2) after the person has committed the crime, 3) with knowledge that the person committed the crime, and 4) with the intent to help the person avoid arrest or punishment. An accessory after the fact may be held liable for, among other things, obstruction of justice.

I would imagine the DOJ has a lot of the video they would need already thanks to the prior House supplying them the video.

But you have to admit this is good news. When we overthrow the government we'll know who is going to have our backs. Should be a go. No more stolen elections.

They have it all already. This is just political posturing for the only person the GOP postures for.
It's still a crime especially for someone whose job it is to uphold the Constitution. If you announce in public, you are going to kill the President an arrest would occur.

It will never go anywhere, and if it does, it would go all the way to SCOTUS.

Ok, outa the loop here a bit. I get that this somehow involves MJ blurring out faces of J6 rioters because he doesn't want them to be prosecuted, but in what context did this occur?

Previous speaker had released video from Jan 6 to FOX. Now Johnson released the video to the public so we can all draw our own conclusions after watching something like 40k hours of security footage. But the video he released had faces blurred. He stated this was to prevent prosecution, this obviously isn't right since the FBI already has all this. Someone in his office clarified that it was to prevent consequences from the public against those that partook of the insurrection.

Yeah it’s really unfair that your neighbors might find out you’re a traitorous piece of shit.

Johnson said specifically he was trying to protect them from the "DOJ". No ambiguity there.

DOJ ain't the public

He said it but that doesn't make sense since the DOJ has the video already. They been arresting people based on the videos.
Johnson’s office later walked back that comment. “Faces are to be blurred from public viewing room footage to prevent all forms of retaliation against private citizens from any non-governmental actors. The Department of Justice already has access to raw footage from Jan. 6, 2021,” Johnson’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Raj Shah said in a statement.

Even that doesn't make sense. Why? Republicans across the country are creating laws that are enforced by vigilantes. Clearly they are cool with it.

Apparently Mike has been talking to god and has been told that he is Moses.
It's a good thing he's not going to be high and mighty about it and only said it when he thought there weren't any journalists there.
If you're interested in hearing the audio, it starts about 13:00 on Keith Olbermann's podcast.

Not insane at all. I do like Keith's reaction that the voice he's hearing isn't god - it's a tumor.
