I have some older Logitech Z-560 4.1 speakers. Trying to get all 4 to work with my system.

Here's a link to the manuals in case anyone wants to take a look.

Z560

ASRock

I have the front speakers plugged into the green outlet and the rear in the black.
Using Windows 8.1. I checked ASRock's site but don't see any audio drivers listed.

Driver Link

If I plug the black plug (rear speakers) into the green port I get sound so I know the speakers are OK. Got to be something in software I'm missing.

Also the sub has no sound as well.

I recently went from Windows 7 to 8.1. I am pretty confident the sub worked in W7 but I never payed attention to the rear speakers.

Any ideas?

Yes, only the Front left and right.

I've tried the Speaker Setup. Obviously when I select Stereo I get the tones for front left and right. If I choose Quadrophonic I also get front left and right but no sound is heard when it "plays" the tones on rear right and left.

Thanks. So, I wonder if there would be any benefit to "downgrading" drivers. It shows the current driver that Win8 installed as 2013. That one shows fro 2010.

It could be that the drivers that Windows 8 aren't the proper ones for you board. It can't hurt to try and see if they fix the issue, if not you can just uninstall them and reinstall the default Win 8 drivers.

That's a pretty old board so it's not a big surprise that it's missing some Windows 8 drivers. However the are audio drivers for Windows 7 that should work on Windows 8 on their site, they're listed here: http://66.226.78.22/downloadsite/dr..._Win7-64_Win7_Vista64_Vista_XP64_XP(R251).zip .

For older boards, it's usually better to go straight to Realtek for the drivers. The ALC892 is still a currently-produced codec, so there are native Windows 8 drivers for it even though ASRock might not have updated their support page in a while.

Thanks. That did it.

I didn't have a chance to try nsafreak's idea. Just got back to the PC and saw your suggestion.

Now, all four work.
