ok with my old speakers i could barely hear a hiss but now its loud with 50watts going through nice new speakers

its only my front left speaker... what is causing this? do i have to run new wire now? or what? the rest of the speakers sound great but unless the music is cranked up i can hear the hiss and its driving me nuts

I'm assuming you don't have a crappy deck. You may just have loose wires that are getting electrical interference. Take the speakers out and redo the wire-nuts or however you did it and put it back together. If that doesn't work do the same to the deck, if that still doesn't work you might want to inspect the wires themselves. If you got it professionally installed go back there. If you didn't and you still can't figure it out bring it down to Circuit City or Best Buy and pay them 35 bucks so that its their fault.

i did it myself... yes its a nice new head unit too

i have bass blockers on and i got the kit from crutchfield so all i had to do was plug it in to my original wires

right now it looks like i'm gonna have to rerun the wire down to the headunit

if the speaker wires and the stereo wires are of different guages, then you might be getting some impedence. You can check the Ohms rating for the speakers and compare to the ohms output of the deck. I would think though that it must be something with the connections since its only in one speaker.
