SPDIF_OUT Digital Audio Out

I have a Biostar U8668 motherboard. Like many others boards it has a connector for digital audio. Specifically in my case a 3 pin header (+5,SPDIF_OUT,Gnd) This is supposed to connect to a panel with both optical and coaxial outputs manufactured by Biostar. This panel did not come with the motherboard and is hard to get.

The question is, does any one know if the SPDIF_OUT&,GND can be wited directly to an RCA jack for connection to a stereo system.

If the stereo has spdif rca input... maybe

hm....I suppose...nothign guaranteed...depends which actually gives an output. You could test via a multimeter

Basically it requires a little circuitry to do it.
