basically what i am trying to accomplish is trying to hook my zs2 gamer to my receiver...

Ja, Audigy has digital coaxial output jack.

An adapter like this will thus allow using any common RCA male-male video or "digital audio" cable to connect to the receiver.

How could that work when the digital out jack on the Audigy2zs is a 6-channel proprietary connection for secificly for creative speakers? seems to me like you wouldn't be able to get anything but a mono singal out of that and I'd worry about voltage issues as well.

I too am looking for an SPDIF solution for digital pass-though with my Audigy2zs. I'm just using anolog connections right now and I know I need those for games, but passthough for DVDs would be nice. It looks like one of the connectors on the side of the card would support that but I'm not sure exactly how.

Oh and by the way this really has no place on the video forum, hopefully a mod will come around and move it to Peripherals were people are more likely to have answers.

Turns out I was over thinking things and shouldn't have doubted Auric, Creative recomends exactly what he did in the guide here:

under connecting related periferals, watching DVDs.

Not that won't give you surroundsound unless its just passthough from preincoded sorces such as DVDs. For surroundsound gams in and such you have to use analog.
