SPDIF-Out --->????----> Zalman Theatre 6 Headphones

The soundcard on my new motherboard (MSI RS480M2-IL) doesn't have seperate L/R/C outputs but has an SPDIF out. Can I connect my Zalman Theatre 6 Headphones to the SPDIF connection without a receiver?

Are you sure the board doesn't have 6channel analog out? It says it does.

Even if you did get SPDIF connected to your headphones it would be surround sound for games which is what I assume you're going for.

Thanks for the reply! I don't have to use the SPDIF connection. Splitting the Line-out to 3 channels would suffice for what I'm trying to do (Which is exactly what you said). Is that possible? If so how do I do it?

I think your integrated audio should be able to be configured so that it outputs the sound correctly for 5.1 over the three sound jacks on your motherboard. Check your integrated audio sound settings to see if you can select 5.1 out.

I can configure audio to output to the three jacks. Looks like there is no way to use a mic with this setup. Oh well! Thanks for the info.
