Funny.. The people saying screw the bird are the same ones who will suggest the death penalty for a shoplifter. Somehow law only applies sometimes, and then it requires the death penalty, and other times you can do as you please because "it's just a damn bird". 😕 ATOT gets dumber every day.

Really? Care to provide some link to this "death penalty for a shoplifter" idea?

I agree with your assessment of the general intelligence of the forum however. But it's posts like yours that contribute to the decline.

LMFAO, that made me laugh very loudly

Reminds me of the time Dave Winfield got charger for killing a seagul during a Jays and Yankees game here in Toronto.

"The bird was a common house sparrow -- a species placed on the national endangered list last year."

i guess they arent so common anymore

Over 4 MILLION dominoes. Over 100 people working on it for over a month. That's a little more than annoying. It sucks that they had to kill the bird, but if you've ever had a bird in your house, that's usually the only way to get it out without wreaking havoc.

Sometimes accidents happen, due to our size and lack of knowledge of the situation.
But if you go out of your way to kill something that does not aid in your own survival and safety...
Killing a bird because it annoyed you is wrong.
Shooting a deer for sport is wrong.
Fishing so you can put that big catch on the wall is wrong.

Define "wrong."

Also, what about swatting a mosquito because "it annoyed you?" Taking anti-biotics because your illness "annoys you." Would a cure for herpes be "murder" and "wrong?" I mean, the virus is a living entity and killing it won't aid in your survival. Life is life, no?

No, I think you to be just as hypocritical as anyone else here, but you've set your bar one tier lower, so you feel you are somehow morally superior.

And to take it a step further, eating a hamburger to fill your stomach is "wrong". You could eat veggies and fruit all day, right Zysoc? But then again the fruit contains seeds, is it wrong to eat the fruit as well, thus preventing the tree from planting its seeds?

Maybe we should just all starve!

I don't care what you think about me. I never asked you to post or give your opinion on the matter. I don't think myself a moral person at all really. Perhaps I just care about the lives of species other than my own.

Yes, I am reading you posts. Are you reading mine? Does that mosquito threaten your "safety?" I mean, if there a life-or-death situation involved when deciding to slap at it, or let it finish feeding and move on? Few people die from herpes. It's merely an inconvenience for them, involving pain and discomfort. So isn't trying to kill the herpes-virus murder, by your own definition, since it doesn't fall into the "survival and safety" category?

I don't care what you think about me. I never asked you to post or give your opinion on the matter. I don't think myself a moral person at all really. Perhaps I just care about the lives of species other than my own.
And yet, many here probably don't care about what you think about this story or wanted you to post, yet you did. Funny how that works, eh? You were even the first to jump in with your "human being are a waste of air" comment. If you are so disinterested in the opinions of others, why are you participating in this forum? Why are you sharing your opinions and reading the opinions of others? Why don't you stick to purely fact-based websites, instead of the highly opinioned "off-topic" forum?

I see that hypocrite label runs deeper than I first guessed..

Humans are a waste of air.
Those that over-react to the shooting of a single bird, doubly so.

If you say so.
It's not my reaction to the shooting of a single bird. But the murder of millions of animals.
Murder? 😕

So now we are expanding a idea historically assigned to the deliberate killing of another human to encompass the entire animal kingdom? Why stop there? I stepped on a bug this morning. I suppose I am a murderer. I've eaten countless pounds of beef, pork, fish, venison, seafood, etc. I suppose now I'm a mass-murderer?

Again, a little perspective would go along way.

I am.

What if you shoot the deer because you like venison?

If it was like one of those god damn seagulls, then yeah, blast the motherfvcker. But a sparrow? Those cute little brown birds that hop around on the lawn and eat seeds or bugs or something? Man, I couldn't kill one of those if I wanted too.

Aww that's so cute.
Perhaps you just like to have the last word no matter how wrong you are?
Might as well type blah blah blah for the all relevance what you posted has.
Or perhaps just to antagonize? Sort of like what I am doing right now.

Yeah that's what I thought. You can go now, but thanks for stopping by.

Uh.. ok. I guess you proved my opinion on the issue to be 'wrong.' Congratulations? 😕

The bird that flew into the dominoes building was a "House Sparrow" (also known as the English Sparrow) and is certainly NOT endangered. It's considered a pest bird, due to its messy nesting habits, and tendency to crowd out native beneficial birds, such as the Bluebird (in North America). Note: the English Sparrow wasn't even present in N. America, until introduced in the early 1800's into Central Park, NY.
Other sparrow species, such as the Song Sparrow, would be more likely the true focus, of being an "endangered species".
So, it's likely a case of someone confusing the dead "House Sparrow" that got into the dominoes building, with some other bird species.
In other words: Much ado about nothing.

i dunno dude, seriously, you just got pwnz0red by him. go re-read what he said. your reply was merely a pointless attempt with no facts or anything, to do exactly what you accuse him of doing ... get the last word.

Hulk mad!!! HULK SMASH!!!

If you broke the law, there was only the one law, which everybody broke again and again. The cop laboriously wrote it all up, which law, which infraction each time, the same one. And there was always the same penalty for any breaking of the law, from jaywalking to treason: the penalty was the death penalty, and there was agitation to have the death penalty removed, but it could not be because then, for like jaywalking, there would be no penalty at all. So it stayed on the books and finally the community burned out entirely and died. No, not burned out -- they had been that already. They faded out, one by one, as they broke the law, and sort of died.
