I have 7.10 on my Laptop, and I have 4 Desktops on it.

Unfortunately when I have a large window or when I move the window slightly too far, it spans onto the other Workspace. Is there anyway to lock the workspaces so that, for instance, a window doesn't appear on both workspaces no matter what? (Only CTRL-ALT-[ARROW] will allow it to switch is what I want)

do you have the advanced desktop effects manager installed? im not sure if its changed, but when 7.10 was released it wasnt available under the "add/remove" front end and i had to use aptitude for it.

the package is compizconfig-settings-manager and once installed is available under System > Preferences > Advanced Desktop Effects Settings

what you want can probably be done with "Desktop: Rotate Cube > Edge Flip Move (uncheck)" and "Window Management: Snapping Windows > Edge Attraction (checked)"

with that windows wont rotate the desktop when they hit the edge, and will stop at the edge with some resistance before spanning the adjacent desktop.

Are you sure you have 4 separate desktops and not just one big desktop that's 4 monitors wide?

Yea I have the compizconfig-settings-manager installed.

I guess that is the best I can do. I was hoping that if they go off the edge they can just disappear into nothingness and not onto the next display, but if that isn't possible I suppose snapping to the edge would be fine.

While I'm at it, is there a simple way for me to Update Eclipse from 3.2 to 3.3, or do I need to completely uninstall 3.2, download and install 3.3? (Yes I am running 7.10 so it isn't in the repositories from what I have found)
