we have a mexican janitor here that always says weird things to us. today he asked me something that sounded like "da goo-sta la ver-gah" also he calls us "cah-brones" and "ho-toes" ??

"Joto" means gay, specifically a gay male. "Jotos" is plural.

He's just fvcking with you, it's pretty common in mexican language to use insults as a part of regular speech.
