Spanish Grammer.... a little help?

Please check this if it makes sense:

Mi primer día de escuela.
Cuando tenía cinco años yo fui a mi primer día de escuela. Al principio no quise ir. Después del primer día fue divertido. Ahora la escuela es difícil y menos divertido.

Cuando aprendí a leer.
Cuando tenía seis años yo aprendí a leer. Primero aprendí el alfabeto después leer fue fácil. Mi primer libro fue el gato en el sombrero. Me gustaba leer.

Cuando aprendí a pasear en bicicleta.
Cuando tenía ocho años yo aprendí a pasear en bicicleta. Al principio fue deficil.Después de mucha práctica me puse mejor. Me gustaba pasear en bicicleta.

Cuando moví a Sunnyvale .
Hace cuatro años, mi familia y yo moví a sunnyvale. Cuando llegué no me gustó aquí. Cuando yo puse amigos fue mejor. Ahora me gusta aquí.

Cuando fui a la playa.
El fin de semana pasado, yo fui a la playa. Fui nadé en el agua. El agua estaba frío y el tiempo hizo calor. Me divertí mucho.

I will try my best. Most suggestions have been already noted, but there are others that I would like to present. I could be wrong, but this is how I would set it up.

If you've got a bit more spanish ahead of you, I'd suggest picking up a copy of 501 Spanish Verbs, it really helps with the conjugations of most of the verbs you'll run across. Gives you each verb on a page, and then a page full of conjugations for each tense, for each form (Yo, Tu, Ud. etc). Really helped me out in my 4th year of spanish, when we did a lot of writing. We called it the "Verb Bible", I believe amazon.com sells it still. Good luck!

I second casimec that it's "el agua estaba fría" in the last example. I know that's completely counterintuitive, but feminine nouns beginning in "a" or "ha" and stressed on that syllable use "el" in the singular but are not considered masculine.

El agua fría.
Las aguas frías.
