They also voluntarily let fighting bulls loose on their narrow streets and attempt to escape with their lives. Yes, I'd say they're kinda nuts.

instead of complaining about it, why don't you go join them and have fun? If i were in your shoes, I'd be jumping all over that stuff.

btw, why did you move there?

Where in southern Spain did you move to flexy? I visited a few places there back in '07 and I've wanted to move there ever since. :p

Near Alicante. Its a really small, tiny Village...obviously people are really, really bored here..so they go nuts when there is an occasion where they can shoot fireworks :)

By the way..as far as i understand they banned bull fights now?

the puritan states of america? haha. good one.

Quite an apt description too. We do have a strong ancestral component comprised entirely of the Puritan rejects from Europe. Actually, we have quite a bit to say as a country, considering the early success was hinged mostly on the shoulders of all those Europe essentially saw as unfit to live in their societies.
But still, them goddamn Puritans only grew more numerous, and less ignored.

I don't understand people's obsession with fireworks at all. I outgrew them as soon as I hit puberty.

Hmm.
When I was finished with puberty, my love for all things fire only grew more intense. I'm a fire-bug, but I definitely a fearful fire-bug. Respect the ever-loving shit out of anything of a fire or explosive nature, but sure do have fun when I can.

My point is you'd have to search hard for anything puritan in this country now.

Wow, why did you move to a tiny village in Spain?
Do you speak Spanish well? Are you working there?

They had bull fights while I was there a few weeks ago.
I didn't personally see them, but I walked past the stadium and watched them on TV (live).
