!%^#$#$$ SPAM!! What do you use to kill spam?

I am so sick and tired of SPAM. Today I must have gotten 2 dozen SPAMs advertising the Atkins diet & "male" enhancement. They didn't all come in at once, but speraticly. It really decreases my productivity since e-mail is the main source of contact with my clients. What tools do you use to filter spam?

1) I had ~10 spam a day.
2) I unsuscribed from it all.
3) I TEMPORARILLY got ~20 spam a day.
4) I kept unsuscribing until everyone who buys the spam knew I wouldn't accept it.
5) I get ~1 spam a month now.

Don't sign up to anything on any websites w/ your e-mail address you use with clients. Make a seperate one for online forms and just junk on random sites. Also on any website you may have, you might want to get rid of e-mail address links and just put contact me at blah AT something DOT com ... Like not the format of a regular e-mail address so bots that crawl sites looking for addresses don't pick it up.

[edit] btw, I do what dullard does, just keep unsubscribing. I don't get much spam on my main acct though. [/edit]

A lot of the time unsubscribing from spam just gets you more. You might have unsubscribed from that particular one but it signs you up for a bunch of others

Correct, which is why I said it doubled my spam temporarilly. But there are only a few companies willing to pay money for the email address - once you get off of them, no one spams you.

I never give out my real e-mail. Any web forms that i will fill out get my Yahoo address which I never check. My e-mail is listed on my company website, but I can't remove it or use blah AT something DOT com. I also unscribe to every spam that I get. I don't think it works since I'm still getting SPAMd

Are they recurring e-mail addresses that your getting spammed from?

If so, you company mail server should have some type of spam filter, if not, maybe you can get one on your computer or set one up in outlook. I've never done this so, not sure about setting up a spam filter yourself.

I do however have a spam filter on my domain, I use my domain e-mail more then my ISP. Through the domain control panel I can add e-mail addresses to block in the spam filter....
