Spam reporting

I use Gmail and I barely get spam. But when I do I want to report it and send it to the agencies that stop spam.

The KnujOn add-on for Thunderbird seems to do this and you can even add custom addresses (http://secondwheel.googlepages...birdextension#options) to report spam too like Spamcop. Which I also have added.

KnujOn: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozill............n/2824"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozill............addon/2824"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.o.........ird/addon/2824"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/......derbird/addon/2824"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2824"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2824">https://addons.mozill............a></a></a></a></a></a>

Spamcop: http://www.spamcop.net/anonsignup.shtml

If you plan to use Spamcop as well then this addon will be quite useful:

Open all links: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2913"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2913">https://addons.mozilla.o.........ird/addon/2913</a></a> This helps open all the links in spamcop e-mails in your browser at once. Use this guide: http://code.google.com/p/opena...nks/wiki/Configuration

Anyone know of any other spam reporting tools? Heck general tips to avoid spam?

Not saying you are wrong, but I suspect, over time, a gmail address, like any other email address will be safe only until some spammer gets a hold of it, and then it will make its way to every spam list in the country
as its sold and resold.

Which is sadly what my wife's careless habits allowed to happen to our regular email address, and why I set up two new gmail addresses for us.

I know never publicly display your e-mail address anyware and use a disposible one instead helps.

Plus with Gmail you get two e-mail addresses. @Gmail.com and @Google.com as well ( http://cnettv.cnet.com/2001-1_53-50003685.html ). Some other e-mail services do this too.

and there is some + trick you can do for like disposable gmail addresses.

Tons of places offer free disposable addresses as well.

Ever since I have been reporting my spam, I do seem to get less of it. Plus helping report it doesn't hurt and hopefully helps in some way.

As I said above does anyone know of any other custom spam reporting addresses I should add to KnujOns custom addresses or is KnujOn and Spamcop good enough?

Thank you, i never knew about this Knujon addon, that is very cool!!!

Is there any other spam reporting e-mail addresses I should add to the custom addresses in KnujOn to help report and stop spam.

I only seem to get 2-4 spam messages once in awhile. But anything that can help stop em now, before they pile up would be nice.

So I don't need spam filters as Gmail seems to do that well. Sometimes things get in the spam folder that shouldn't but nothing is perfect.

Just a way to report and stop the junk that ends up in the spam folder. Instead of just letting it rot in the spam folder, might as well do something to help the agencies that are trying to shut down spammers.
