A friend asked me for help with his spam problem. He has 5 or 6 computers and lots of spam lately. I set up spamassassin on his mail server for him (just a simple webhost) but it's not doing much help.
Besides adding a another piece of software on each computer. Does anyone have some ideas for helping with spam?

He does have 1 gmail account he uses as a backup for work. I can't think of some way to route all the mail accounts through one though.

any input is appreciated.

What I do totally eliminates spam. I use a "white list" only for my business email. Only mail from addresses I place on the list come through. The rest just get bounced. At the same time I have an "open" email address and manage it with Mail Washer Pro. That lets me control what is on my ISP server. http://www.firetrust.com/en/products/mailwasher-pro

This arrangement would not work for a business that depends on public orders on line. But, that is not the nature of my business.

it is a thought. He has a couple geniric email accounts like info@, etc. maybe he could whitelist the email accounts with everyones names on them.

thank you
