is there a logical reason for this. is it still short for something?
and which came first? spamming chat channels, spamming in FPS's, or junk e-mail?

I've lived in Austin MN-- Hormel headquarters and "SPAMtown USA" for almost my entire life. When Hormel filed a lawsuit against SpamCop for violating their trademark we had reporters from as far away a Chicago come to town. A big deal was made out of it but I dont think anyone in town (outside of the corporate office) gave a hoot.

Spam on a cream cheese bagel tastes much better than you'd think.
