Well, I've returned from my ten day trip to Spain. It was my first time overseas and it was an amazing experience. I saw a lot of really cool things and learned a lot about foreign cultures and traveling abroad.
I went to several cities/towns during my trip. I went to Madrid, Seville, Ecija, Granada, Cordoba, Toledo, and Solobreña. I really like all of the places I visited but Toledo and Solobreña were my favorites. Madrid was nice, but a little too big and commercial for my tastes. Toledo was just a cool-looking medieval European town with some really cool architecture. Solobreña was an awesome little coastal town in the south of Spain in the Mediterranean where the temperature was about 80F the day I was there.
I also enjoyed the experience of interacting with a totally different culture. It really helped that I know basic conversational Spanish, but just experiencing the people, food and society was awesome. I also learned that while most of the Spanish people are very nice, polite and helpful, there are others who generally dislike Americans. The food wasn't my favorite, but I did find that I really liked Paella. I also found a lot of tasty miscellaneous food items that I wish I could have brought back to the US with me, namely Coke (which happens to taste better when made with sugar cane IMO).
Customs was a joke. A little fun fact: If you don't declare it and you don't act suspicious, I can almost guarantee that no one will bother you.
That's it for now. I took about 480 pictures on my trip, so once I sort through and resize them, I'll post some up in case anyone wants to see.
Oh, and anyone who's ever been to Spain can feel free to chime in as well.
Update: Uploaded some pics to Flickr. Check them out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/balexandro/sets/72157594574206590/
