Spacewalking astronaut imaged through an 8" scope!

That is pretty freakin' cool, yes. Bet he's going to be a bit surprised people were watching him during that exercise.
 
That is pretty awesome.

Now astronauts are going to have to start worrying about who's watching when they pick their noses.
 
My son is saving money to get a telescope and I'm constantly having to dissuade him from being every POS he sees at Wal-Mart until we have enough money to get something decent. Hopefully these images will help him "get it." 🙂
 
Not if the satellite was in geosynchronous orbit

The space shuttle couldn't make it to geosynchronous orbit in its wildest dreams. Geosynchronous orbit is 22236 miles in altitude, above the equator. Space shuttle barely makes it to 1% of that altitude.
