Spacehulk: Deathwing

Anyone heard of this? The trailers have me totally stoked.

I love me some 40k. Space Marine was a fantastic game - even the MP was awesome (granted the netcode sucked a big one). I still play Dawn of War from time to time (though I prefer DOW1 to DOW2).

Yeah I remember this game. It interested me because it was the first big AAA Unreal Engine 4 game that I had seen.. Very reminiscent of Gears of War to me, although I don't know anything about the lore of this particular game world.

Hopefully it will be due out this year 😎

Seen it a while ago. Haven't seen or heard anything since that very well orchestrated and song backed trailer.

I'd do a Terminator-focused Space Marine game but I want a DoW2 based sequel.

I've avoided Horus Heresy books in the main but I must be nearing 100 novels, all in hardback or paperback form, including some limited print runs. I love the rich, in-depth lore and that's why something like Space Marine and Dawn of War 2 worked for me. Small numbers of Space Marines against hordes of everything else.

I even got myself a 40k t-shirt for wearing around the house with a fitting benediction to The Emperor.

yeah the whole 40k universe has tons of lore. I read the Gaunt's Ghosts novel and it took a little to get into, but it was a very enjoyable read.

15% off on Steam if you pre-order right now. I know there's a lot of debate about pre-ordering games due to the buggy mess most of them release as, but it's only $40 to start and Games Workshop tend to be on the ball for exterminating bugs. It's on my wishlist and with it releasing so close to the Steam Winter Sale, I don't know if it would be better to wait for the first impressions to roll in to see if the game has any depth or if the pre-order sale is as good as we will get this year.

Tough call.

I'm waiting, anything more than $25 = wait *to me I know this is subjective* I feel to preorder a digital good is kind of silly, there won't be limited inventory and 15% off or some cheap dlc doesn't justify the risk*
It's on my watch list too.

Looks interesting. Too bad so many of the GW titles seem to have garbage writing. Its like they spend all their dev money on the license. I'll wait for reviews...

Eh, Warhammer was never about eloquent writing. The lore is there, but you have to look for it among the countless different books by even more different authors. If the gameplay is good and has decent depth, I'll forgive some bad writing.

I'll bite for the preorder. If it sucks, I will let you all know. But I am hopeful. For the emperor!
(WH40k: Space Marine is a total hidden gem, if no one has played it)

I don't believe Space Marine is a hidden gem. It was advertised really well and sold better than expected. I played through it a few times before uninstalling it. Haven't touched it in years.

It's understandable to be leery of titles such as this one and I think they are going for some classic L4D action with more emphasis coming from Killing Floor, but it still looks good in its current state. That being said, I'm on the side of "wait and see" these days. But it's definitely on my wishlist and something I'll probably grab during the Winter Sale.

Warhammer+ X-COM engine and tweeks.. I was hoping somebody would do a Fantasy (sword/board/caster) version of X-Com.. success breeds imitation, but so far not much..

It's a 'No' from me.

Even if someone mods the weapons to sound more like you'd expect from Space Marine weapons and mods the voices to sound... like a Space Marine might sound.

I thought it sounded pretty cool, except the chain gun toward the end but that wasn't bad

*I'm no lore expert

I will say it could get stale but they priced it right
