spa gift certificate =bad idea for mom?

I built my parents a media center PC but want to supplement it with something specifically for my mom.. My mom is indian and middle aged, and has never been to a spa. My wife and her side of the family love the occasional spa trip, and I thought her going to the spa with my mom would be a nice bonding experience for both of them (they do like each other very much, fyi). I'M NOT GOING WITH THEM, to be clear..EWW EWW EWW

I've only been to a spa once (private, at a resort) but wonder if the nudity would just be too much for my mom. I can't ask my wife because then I'd ruin that surprise.
 
I didn't realize people just walked around the spa nude. I thought it was just massages, pedicures, etc..., so you might be nude at your massage, but you'd be covered.

Then again, i've never actually been to a spa myself. If we get massages we have them come to us.
