Question SP5 heatsink rated 400Watt.

I just got a 9654 Genoa/motherboard/memory. I need a heatsink ! 320 watt is the best I can find.

HELP !

What motherboard did you get? I'm looking at the Supermicro H13SSL-NT motherboard, but I'm not sure that heatsink will fit.

From what I found, the only other option is the Lori AMD SP5 4U-K45 heatsink, but I couldn't find it available for sale anywhere.

I found the AMD SP5 S42 cooler listed on this page as being rated to 400W.

AliExpress lists it for sale for $54.39:

Mark those heatsinks are LOUD AS @#$#@%T#@WE$#@.
Your not going to need your hearing aid to hear that cpu fan on.

Any problems trying to fit a Noctua D15S-TR4 edition?

I suggest asking Noctua themselves with an e-mail: they ought to know if it's compatible and, if not, might even suggest something that is, if @Markfw explains his use case.

@ worst, he'll be in the exact same situation he's in now: worth a try, IMO.

well, there is no way a TR4 heatsink will work at all, the mounting on the SP5 for the heatsing requires that the HSF have the exact 6 screws in the exact pattern as the socket, and a very heavy plate. It has to do with the even pressure of the HSF to the socket, as well as being considerably bigger. I will have to use this noisy POS until I either go water (which I have no room for) or that Loricooler.com 2U-K45 becomes available or they reply.

Edit: @ovidiu I ordered the one you linked at ali-express.

Edit2: See the difference here, spacing, size and male vs female

I though Noctua might have a mounting kit for Genoa to be used for TR4 coolers but, if the size of the new socket is so much bigger, then that won't work.

No harm in asking, though: perhaps they have a prototype or two they are working on and are willing to let you have it for X + shipping expenses ...

Thanks for that. But I have emailed them before, its like talking to a rock, they never reply. Same with loricooler.com. If you are not a big company, none of them will talk to you, if its not on their website, you are screwed. I would have better luck asking Ian to help me.

I C.

My only experience contacting them was to ask for an AM4 mounting kit for a then discontinued cooler, using a picture of the boxes of Motherboard + cooler together with the cooler, which they promptly sent.

Had to resort to doing it this way because i had misplaced the cooler's invoice (it's a cooler from 2011, IIRC), but it worked.
