I've got this new board running at 145mhz fine right out of the box with a coppermine 500 and a golden orb cooler. I haven't even tweaked it yet!

One problem: I'm having a hard time finding a windows program that will monitor my temps and voltages. Suggestions anyone?

Thanks

i have the same motherboard which i brought the 2nd it was out, but i can only get it to run at 133fsb on a 700E anything above 133 won't work but then again it's probably the cpu because the 600E could go to 140fsb on this same board. I say go to www.hmonitor.com & use the hardware monitor pro which has official support for the sy7vca & it monitors mainboard, cpu, power voltages & fan rpm.

Darkman: Thanks but I tried that one already. It doesn't appear to support the monitoring chip on this soyo board.

RayEarth: This does monitor the temps, but unfortunately it causes my system to either lock up (once) or reboot by itself (twice). After 3 tries I uninstalled it. Did you have this problem? If so, how did you get around it?

i have had it lock up after rebooting the computer for it to run the first time, i just push the reset switch & let the scandisk complete itself & then i change all the voltage & other options to match. i haven't had it reboot before, it also locks up when you install to many programs without restarting it. also are you using the pro version? & did you update your bios to 2aa5? this isn't the best program i've used, i give it 3.5 out of 5.

I did try gettting into the program and changing the settings to match my setup. Both times it locked up before I could change everything. Maybe I should try it again. I have been using the "PRO" version. I even tried the "lite" version, but discovered it apparently doesn't support the monitoring chip on this board. I guess I'll try it again later. I'm not sure yet which version of the BIOS came with the board. I haven't felt like trying to flash it yet. I don't want to push my luck - but what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks,
Chuck

the latest bios is 2aa5, you can see your bios ver. on the lower left corner when it's showing your processor speed. i had this soyo7vca when it was out the second day & had the 1st bios & i have flashed it 4 times already from 2aa1 to 2aa5 bios & every update went fine. also is your computer having any other problems prior to this program or does errors occurs only during this program? i have this hmonitor running on 2 different cpu & they both have no problems of random lockups. i would say run a standard scandisk with automatic fix option checked & then install hmonitor & when it ask you to reboot say no & do it manually & then when it boots up the first time registry or just cancel that option & then go to settings & just change voltage to 1.6 & aux to 2.5 & change the 3 option monitor to mainboard, cpu,& power because that's what order it monitors the items. if it locks up & control, alt & delete doesn't work, then push reset once let scandisk go through once & if it still locks up it might be software rated & you can try cpu cool at: http://members.xoom.com/podien/ i have not used this before but it also monitors temp & stuff like that.
