I just bought a Soyo P4S Lite and P4 2.0a CPU from Frys. The case arrived today so I put it together and tried booting it up for the first time. It powers up, the fans are all spinning, the hard drive spins up, and the floppy drive sounds like it's being initialized; seems like the computer is booting up like normal. The problem is there is no video and a POST code beep sequence of long-short-short. I've tried moving the memory around to different slots. Tried two different video cards.
The memory module is a stick of generic PC2100 DDR 256mb. There are switches on the board for setting the DRAM Mhz. Leaving it at the default settings sets this for 100Mhz and results in the aforementioned beep sequence. I tried setting it to 133Mhz and the beep sequence is gone, but now there is not even a normal beep and still no video.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
