I think we have a real winner here. I don't find nearly the # of negative posts regarding this board as I found on the others.
I would hope SOYO would release a BIOS flash that will speed up the boot time. Anyone using the BootVIS with this board let us know if it worked.

I am bumping to see if I can learn more about Microsoft's BootVis and speeding up the reported very slow POsT time with the Soyo Dragon Plus.
More comments please..... I am thinking about buying this board.

First of all, the dragon is a nice board
🙂 Been using one for several weeks now with one problem, the booting problem. (other than the ones I forced on it). Sound works great, lan is ok (i have noticed a bit of lag on the onboard lan). I did update the bios to the latest version but it didn't help with the slow booting process at all. I too am hoping for a bios update to resolve this problem. (Yes, I see it as a problem).
I have tried the bootvis program, it helps just a tad for the OS to load. Does nothing for the board to boot

When speaking to Soyo suport on the phone, they said its in the board and nothing we can do about it
🙁 The person I spoke with (tier1 I have to assume) didn't know the true reason behind it. Except, to say ALL dragon boards have this behavior.
M$ Bootvis has rewritten the data on the harddrive for faster loads, but no real load speed improvement, not to mention I cant do a defrag now. I assume its because of the bootvis. (can defrag to a point then sais it cant defrag). With that, I recommend NOT using M$ Bootvis on the Dragon Series Motherboards.
