Soy sauce

I want to try some new soy sauce. I've had some good ones in hawaii and some restaurants in NYC, but i did not know their name. Only name I know is kikkoman. hehe can you guys point me in the direction of one of the best soy sauces. Not one that is too strong or is an 'aquired taste'. Just something of more quality

Maggi is the best, also most expensive, make sure you get the one that made in Germany.

If you want to save some money, get the ones from Vietnam such as Vietaste, Mekong, Nam Duong. I just bought one a few weeks ago, very decent compare with Maggi.

I think you have to go to an Asian grocery store to get it.

Kikkoman is junk, you will die early if you keep using it. 😀

Get Silver Swan, that's also good 🙂

I don't know about most people, but Kikkoman doesn't really taste very authentic to me.

La Chow. I get the sweet and sour chicken, hold the sweet and sour sauce and add tons of la choy. Now that is a fantastic meal.

I know I'm probably just old and set in my ways, but I have always used LaChoy.
I kept hearing about how it wasn't "real" Soy Sauce, and that the "real" Soy Sauces are far superior.
I have tried a lot of the authentic sauces, but I really don't care for any of them, and some are just downright nasty, so I just stick with La Choy. I really prefer it.
Maybe it's an aquired taste, but I'm sure I am just used to the cheap stuff!

Kikkomman is REALLY nasty!

Kikkoman was founded in Japan, and they are the most well known maker of Soy Sauce. I would bargain to say that most in Japan use Kikkoman. For the person who said it is not authentic, that could be depending on where you consider it to originate. Soy Sauce came from China so if you are used to the taste of chinese soy sauce I suppose it wouldn't taste "authentic"

I prefer Kikkoman over any commercial soy sauce I have tried.

I ws thinking that Kikkoman WAS authentic, really couldn't remember.
However, I do really dislike the taste.
Yeah, I guess I am just used to the cheap stuff!

maggi is good. my parents have one at home that i really like but i can't remember the name, but i'm 99% sure they got it at a chinese market so it may be a little difficult to find.
