again:

If we are going to get involved in something, we need to go balls deep. None of this air strike, cruise missile stuff. If the country is wrong enough for us to kill their citizens, then they are wrong enough for us to declare war.

Start up the draft, start converting factories and hording silk stockings. This shit of us getting involved in (and sending money to) different countries needs to stop. Our country is broken. Fix it first. Otherwise lets take the whole place over and sell it for scrap.

So Iran borders the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf

What exactly is wrong about what he said? :colbert:

If you want to go there, they do have access to the Caspian "Sea" (yes I know it's really a lake)

No matter how you slice it, it's wrong...

It would be well for your government to consider that having your ships and ours, your aircraft and ours, in such proximity... is inherently DANGEROUS. Wars have begun that way, Mr. Ambassador.

War should be used for conquest, and defense. If we don't get new territory from a military campaign, we were there for the wrong reason.

lets start using it for profit. If we can't pay out bills honestly, then lets start robbing and looting this idiot countries that don't know how to act.

I'm not sure what is in Syria, but I'm sure if we invest $5 mil we can probably sell whatever we get for $10 mil. We do that enough and the debt is gone.

That's the old school way.

New schools = Corps going in taking over resources/taking advantage and reaping the benefits at Tax payers cost.

Everything since WW2 accomplished NOTHING.

We need to stop being the Police of the world. We can hardly take care of our own problems here at home, let alone 6000 miles away. Yes it sucks about what happened their but its about time someone else stepped in to do something. Wasn't part of the Fall of the roman empire due to the fact that they always had to step into everyone else crap? We need to start thinking about ourselves rather than everyone else....

uhh.. NATO has no say over who sails in international waters through the med. Besides, it's NATO. They wouldn't do shit even if they did have a say. Russia has a NAVSUP base in Syria.

Except several of the countries have boundaries extending into that body of water, which is one of the reasons now they stay out. Then you have the whole weapon embargo factor which gives the needed background for vessels to be stopped.

What the fuck are you talking about? Russian ships move from the black sea into the Mediterranean all the time. Syria is important to the Russian Navy because it's their only naval base between their black sea bases and their Pacific bases.

 Atlantic? Indian?

Think everyone in the topic needs to have a look at the map of the area so that we're all on the same page.

Bah... we probably had some old bombs and cruise missiles left over from the Iraq conflicts that were about to expire. Might as well use them instead of throwing them away :)
