Aren't you actually promoting socialism?

That the tax payers dollars should pay for the protection of their cattle?

Isn't that what obamacare is.. giving our tax dollars to those that need healthcare and OMG its a lot more than some fucking ranchers out in the middle of fuckheadistan.

Oh and if you bothered to read the article, it says he has NO CATTLE!

Now the cattle/beef industry are seeing the effects of borders w/o walls. Please read, so very sad for the ranchers who live on our borders.

Fever Ticks reside on both sides of the border. They can come from all different animals and birds. And as it gets warmer their range will move north. Its absurd to think the ticks can only come from mexico. And after 100 years all of sudden its a problem?

Maybe he ought to put up some fences on his ranch? I dunno, crazy thought I guess.
Nah, better for the government to put up fences for him.
You know, that Schrodinger's government we have that both simultaneously can't do anything right ever, but damn well needs to fix this!

This is about as stupid a thing as I have ever heard. Two thirds of Texas is Fever tick territory. They don't come from Mexico, they are native to Texas as well. I grew up on a Texas Cattle ranch and ticks are just a part of raising cattle. There is nothing you can really do about it, there is no general treatment to get rid of the ticks, no real preventative measures you can take. If you think you have a cow with the fever you just have to quarantine and treat.

Finally, if they are bitching about Mexican cattle coming onto their property, fucking tend to your herds and fences. I spend half my childhood fixing fences. The days of free range cattle are fucking long over in Texas. You must have a fence, you have to actively herd, or you will lose your cattle.

Intriguing question as to whether climate change is a factor in this. Are these farmers demanding more be done about Carbon emissions?

Actually, come to think of it, climate change is quite likely playing a role in the migration pressures for humans as well. Maybe conservatives will eventually make that connection?

I'm glad you posted this, as it answered the two questions I had.

1. Are fever ticks native to TX
2. Don't the ranchers fence their cattle in

livestock dipping/spraying for tick and parasite control has been around for decades and is very effective if kept on a strict schedule.
