The guys doing the beheadings are NOT Iraqis. They are foreign terrorists.
And we went there because they were a terrorist supporting and sponsoring nation who we thought had WMDs that they weren't supposed to have that could get into the hands of the terrorists.
Terrorist supporting and sponsoring? Ummmm..........right.

If ever there was a shakier argument than our evidence of WMDs in Iraq, it's the argument that Saddam's regime supported and sponsored terrorism.

al-Qaeda is having a field day in Iraq after we invaded; they now have something they didn't have before the war: a country full of people who hate the U.S., with many who are willing to fight for their cause.

Aye, Cheney was just caught in this lie recently.

What needs to happen is the self-realization (by terrorists) that they are doing wrong.

Excellent. Any predictions on when this self-realization will occur?
Should we just wait for it to happen or do you think it might help if we sit down and have a friendly chat with them?
Maybe we need to try harder to understand their feelings.

What do you know about their motivations? I don't like to go into deep debate with people who aren't knowledgable in the subject matter.

Very sad... The guy was begging for his life a few days ago.. The horrors of what he must have went through those last few minutes are unspeakable.

It's clear that we are dealing with psychotic sociopaths that have no regard for human life. Therefore, the only effective way to deal with these bloodthirsty nutcases is to wipe them out.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm going to assume you're about 12 years old and just let that one go. If you're older than 12, don't tell us as it will just make you look like an even bigger idiot.

He is obviously joking, calm the fvck down.

Sweet, all we have to do is go into Iraq and weed out their entire population, separating the nice Iraqis from the mean terrorists. Then we rinse and repeat in all the Muslim countries around the world.

Bwahahaha.

EDIT: Wait, forgot we have to screen all the Muslims in non-Muslim countries too. After that, if we have time, we can go after all the McVeighs, Nichols, and other non-Muslim terrorists.

Man this really sucks. I heard the tape where he was pleading for his life "<crying>I don't want to die". It was very disturbing.

Will this set the resolve of the Koreans to sort this carp out, or will they fold like the Spanish.

they will do as the spanish

i think only the US will take on these animals, all other nations will attempt to appease them

You make it seem like the Koreans are cowards if they pull out...because they are trying to "appease" them. Other countries do not have the resources that the US enjoys. It's not that easy to send your troops into harm's way for a fight that is not your own.

And if you read the article, it says they are sending 3000 troops regardless.

That is the stupidest thing I have read all day. Defeating terrorism is a fight that is EVERYONE's.

You have been watching too much Bush. You are talking like him now.

i am saying that over the course of the next few years i think very few nations will stick with the US in fighting terrorism

i could be wrong, what do i know?

Thanks for clarifying. I would agree with you but I think there will be some change in frequency. It won't just flatline. In a few years, some countries will send in troops, and some with withdraw. Repeat.

You must have read the headlines the day they said "9/11 commission finds no link between Iraq and Al Qaeda" but missed the commission members themselves speaking out the next day and pointing out that those headlines were completely misleading. They said that they did find evidence that there were long standing contacts and ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda operatives, but not in relation to the 9/11 attacks.

It is also well documented that Saddam provided funding to Palestinian suicide bombers. Thus the use of the word terrorist supporting and sponsoring.

But let's not argue the merits of the war here, that is not the purpose of this thread. Even if you believe that the idea of terrorist ties is a crock of BS, my point was just that we didn't invade simply because of WMD's and to liberate Iraqis. Iraq was portrayed (right or wrong) as a terrorist threat because of the possibility (true or not) of them giving these WMD's to terrorists.

i guess it depends on if you believe the "media" or others

the radio had an iraqi native on this morning that fled iraq to escape torture by saddam before this war.

he just returned from 6 months of working in iraq to rebuild the govt./infrastructure and he said that most the people are glad saddam is gone/glad the US is there

but i guess he is just one guy and could be lying as much as the media is "lying/spinning" things to support Kerry/the democrats for the November election

I like your signature. Shows you are a man of good reasoning, judgement and intelligence. Why didn't anyone else think of that before.

Sad sad sad. May this dude RIP.

What do these extreme Islamists believe will prevent them from going to their "heaven" ? Gay sex? Pork?

IMO they shouldn't have killed Johnson's murderer, rather kept him alive and made a video of him having homosexual relations (forced) with another man (maybe Jewish? since they love Jewish people) who is covered in a full body suit that is made from pieces of pork. They might think twice if they are no longer guarenteed 72 virgins but that is a longshot.

Well too freaking bad. We are at WAR with terrorist forces that are united in their desire to kill as many Americans and westerners as possible. 3500+ and counting, beheading innocent civilians after making demands that they KNOW won't be met. What do you propose? We sit on our asses and let them determine what happens? Put the ball in their hands and see what they do next? I don't think so. Our only course of action is to continue hunting them down and killing them. We can't say for sure that another tradegy like 9/11 won't happen, but it is our duty to try to prevent it from happening. Better than sitting around feeling sorry for these scumbags.

I don't know if I agree with you. While the South Koreans act like they do not like us from time to time, they definitely rely on us to keep the peace on the penisula IMHO. I don't think they would risk threatening that relationship over 3000 troops. Maybe I'm wrong.
