Source: Feds take Gov. Blagojevich into custody

If the Feds have suddenly decided to arrest crooked politicians they are going to have one BUSY BUSY day.

Seems they moved in as hopes to keep him from being the one to select Obamas replacment.

If he is guilty he and jefferson, stevens, etc.. can share a cell.

Once again I would like to reiterate my proposal that the Governor's pension plan be replaced with state provided retirement housing at a secure Joliet facility so that we can just skip all of this rigamorale.

They are going to need a special wing soon for IL governors!

Now if they could just pin some crimes on Daley. He plays the fool, but obviously he's much smarter than Blago.

There is little interest up here in removing Daley, especially now in economically uncertain times. Having learned from his father he's also a LOT better at playing the game.

It just doesn't end:

Even Blagojevich's recently announced $1.8 billion plan for new interchanges and "green lanes" on the Illinois Tollway was subject to corruption, prosecutors alleged.

The complaint repeatedly makes reference to conversations secretly recorded by federal authorities.

The criminal complaint alleges Blagojevich expected an unnamed highway concrete contractor to raise a half-million dollars for his campaign fund in exchange for state money for the tollway project. "If they don't perform, (expletive) 'em," Blagojevich said, according to the complaint.

Jesus soliciting financial gain for the seat selection and wanting members of the editorial board of the chicago tribune fired?

This guy has a set of balls that is for sure.

Looks like Durbin needs to open up MS Word again for another letter to the president. I hope Blago rots. I throw up a little bit in my mouth every time I drive under one of those huge blue open road toll signs with his name slathered across the front.

They're saying he might have had Barack's senate seat up for bid. if so, it's disgusting.

Heh heh

In one charge related to the appointment of a senator to replace Barack Obama, prosecutors allege that Blagojevich sought appointment for himself as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the new Obama administration, or a lucrative job with a union, in exchange for appointing a union-preferred candidate.
Why hello democrat corruption, tastes like the republican corruption, but less calories!

Why doesn't he just declare himself cleared of any wrongdoing? 😛

Seriously though, good. Clean them all up one at a time.

Chicago politics has always been dirty...glad to see another scumbag taken off the public dole.

Now if they could only get some similar dirt on Ah-Nold...

Wow.. some corruption is just so ballsy I almost respect it. He has what a 15% approval rating so he tries to sell the open Senate seat.

I have only ever heard that Illinois government is corrupt. We'll see how Mr. Change man does in office.

What's going to be interesting is how the Obama camp responded to this - since there are obviously 2 sides to these recorded calls, no?

I'm hopeful they shot him down or cooperated with the Feds (even turned him in?)

Ah, I get to wake up with a smile on my face 😀

Chicago/Illinois is the most corrupt government in the country, I guess the lesson here is just don't be corrupt with a non-existent approval rating. 😉
