I have the GA-7NNXP Motherboard with the MCP-T and I am having problems running my mini-system in Dolby 5.1 My stereo does support 5.1 but currently it cuts in and out and sometimes even pops while running the soundstorm in dolby encoding. I have a 50ft cable spaning about 40ft to the stereo. I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how I could fix my problem. Any help would be nice.

Thx,
Jeremy

It could be the cable, but I know optical allows for longer runs without signal degradation. Are you using optical or coax? Do you have another source you could use to test your receiver or another receiver to test your Soundstorm? It could also be heat on the southbridge. Does it feel hot to the touch?

What kind of cable is it? And does the cut outs only happen while encoding dd or with all sound?
Quality can make a big difference at that distance.
Make sure its 75ohm and not 110ohm.

I am using coax cable, so regular antenna cable with RCA adaptors. The music only cuts out when using DD. Otherwise it sounds fine. Where would I be able to get an optical cable that long?
