No. the 8RDA3+ will be the upgraded version of the 8RDA+ which will put it on par with full-featured boards like the A7N8X-DLX and the NF7-S. You'll get onboard RAID as well as s/pdif output, along with a few other features the 8RDA+ doesn't have. These boards will probably feature full 200MHz FSB support as well.Originally posted by: MARMADUKE
Epox 8RDA3+.
dont think this has MCP-T , only MCP, so maybe the 8RDA+ is better?
Typical response from one that doesn't understand SoundStorm. SoundStorm is nothing more than a certification allowing a board-maker to list it as a feature on tech specs, box, manuals etc. There's a check list of requisites that need to be met before the board meets Sound Storm certification, and must be met without any add-in solutions or add-ons. The A7N8X-DLX had full-fledged SS certification, but lost it b/c Asus' implementation requires drivers that do not conform to the standard nVidia UDA. The 8RDA+ never had Sound Storm certification b/c it lacks dedicated 5.1 outputs and an s/pdif output, which will both come standard on the 8RDA3+. We all know how "enthusiastic" you are about the 8RDA+, but you should at least get your facts straight.and I dont think the Asus A7N8X comes with soundstorm anymore?
If you can find an s/pdif output in this picture, you can have a cookie. If you can find 5.1 outputs that aren't shared, you can have another cookie.Originally posted by: MARMADUKE
no s/pdif output? are you sure about that? cause I think I see 1 on my 8rda+..maybe i'm nutz?
I never said the 8RDA3+ had the MCP-T, I said it was full-featured, however it is replaced with C-media's new DD chip. The 8RDA3+ has the MCP chipset not the MCP-T Mr know it all!
Perhaps, but neither the 8RDA+ or 8RDA3+'s sound implementation will be as good as the A7N8X-DLX. The C1 stepping has nothing to do with performance in the MCP, its only significant in the SPP for 400MHz support. The 8RDA+ is shipping from newegg with the MCP-T C1 , I think this is much better chip then MCP, but maybe you know better then me?
