May or may not be good headcans, but they seem to be avail for $29.99 at quite a few online sites. Do a google on "akg K44". Might find a site w better tax and s&h for your locale.

Thanks! Those are pretty nice headphones. I'll be using them when my band starts doing the vocal melodies.

BTW, Missouri residents (like me) will be charged tax. :(

When I shopped around: Headroom (popular among some audiophile forums) has the 55's for $29 and the 66, 70's for $39 before tax+shipping. How do they sound? Don't ask me, I don't know.

[Edit]Oh yeah, mainly wanted to say that the "retail" price is not even close to the list on that site, but for $30, these are probably worth your money. It's just not a "special" deal, the $30 is probably the retail price.[/Edit]

These headphones are pretty good (have 2 myself) but definitely DO NOT cost $125 ANYWHERE! They're not worth that kind of money either..

Yeah, these headphones sell for $30 at other sites too. I think Mars Music B&M might have them for $20, but haven't confirmed that. Nonetheless people seem to like these headphones as a cheap solution for tracking and sometimes mixing. I hear they have a flatter frequency response than headphones that are more expensive, which make them suitable for the purpose.

Go over the Headroom, like someone else suggested, and they have a little review on them plus several graphs. I recommend highly recommend Headroom. Link For the lazy people, they say "A little bright sounding, but good for light acoustic, voice, and classical music. If you're listening to rock and pop, you should consider the Koss UR20 and UR30 in this price range.
Though not as pretty as some headphones, these cans are comfortable, have a self-adjusting headband and single-sided cable attachment, and are driven fairly well by a portable CD player."

Edit: that link is for the K55's not the 44's. Sorry.
