sounds crackling while using keyboard

This has been happening alot lately, sometimes when I press a key on my keyboard the speakers will emit a cracking or poping sound, this started about 4 months ago, when I upgraded my sound card drivers for the audigy 2 ZS. I have looked for the old drivers but to no avail.

Im thinking that this might be a result of an IRQ conflict between the keyboard and sound card? But I dont know how I could confirm or deny this diagnosis. Or I could be completely wrong, i duno. And usually a restart of my computer will fix the problem for a while, but it always comes back in an hour or two.

Has anyone else had or heard of this problem?

Also I have a wireless keyboard, but have had it a while and did not have the problem before.

In the era of AC97 crackling could be alleviated by turning down DirectSound acceleration
Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices - Audio - Sound playback - Advanced - Performance - Hardware Acceleration - adjust from Full to Standard.
